She'd be safe there for the majority of the jobs, even cooking on the hob (although I probably wouldn't use the oven) and if she's a bit grumpy she'd probably settle there where she can see what you're doing. (If you don't have anything suitable I can lend you one to try, I have many!) I personally use the TV when I'm trying to cook, even though I'd rather not.
